Why Rats?
Despite what people may think, rats are intelligent, social, and gentle animals that make great pets for both children and adults.

Rats are very smart. They will learn tricks such as jumping through a hoop, fetch, walking a tight rope, and obstacle courses. They can learn their names and come when called, and beg to be let out of their cage to play and explore.
People often think that rats are smell, dirty, mean animals. This just isn’t true. If you keep their cage well cleaned, there won’t be any noticable odor. Rats are very clean animals, and will clean themselves daily like a cat. And rats have been domesticated and bred for many decades to be loving, affectionate pets. They rarely bite and will cuddle with their owners.
Rats are playful and most will play games with you, such as tug-o-war, hide and seek, and wrestling with your hand.
Every rat has its own personality. While some rats are playful and active, others are more layed back and like to cuddle. Also, while some rats are quick learners, others will take more time.
